Considerations Before Applying

  • Freemasonry is not a political, religious, or profit-seeking organization.
  • Membership is a lifelong commitment to self-improvement, brotherhood, and service to humanity.
  • The path of a Mason requires time, dedication, and discretion.
  • Applicants should have a genuine interest in Masonic philosophy, traditions, and charitable work.
  • The decision to join should come from personal conviction — no one should ever be compelled or persuaded against their will.

General Requirements

To be considered for membership in the Hiram and Solomon Grand Lodge of Lebanon, a candidate must:

  • Be a person of good character and reputation.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Believe in a Supreme Being (in accordance with Masonic principles).
  • Be free-born and of sound mind and body.
  • Be capable of meeting the moral and ethical standards of Freemasonry.
  • Be willing to take the obligations of Freemasonry freely and without coercion.
  • Be recommended by two existing Master Masons in good standing.
  • Be in a financial position to meet the membership dues and expenses.

Additional Considerations

  • No Recruitment: Freemasonry does not actively recruit members; individuals must express their interest in joining.
  • Investigation: The Lodge will investigate the applicant's background and character.
  • Interview: An interview with the applicant is a part of the process.
